Tamara M. Alamsyah

Born in Palembang, Indonesia, Tamara M. Alamsyah was raised with minimal exposure to the creative world. Nevertheless, she learned to express her thoughts with drawing. Tamara recently graduated from the Visual Arts Study Program of Institut Teknologi Bandung (Bachelor in Arts) and is currently pursuing her master’s in the same field. She finds her interest in how people’s perceptions are shaped. Her study now focuses on Sudjoko’s concept of elaborating artworks from “Menuju Nirada” (1992) as a way for her to understand and define her own practice in a more localized manner. She participated in several group exhibitions, including Printmaking Today, Selasar Sunaryo (2021); Distrik Seni: Berdikari!, Sarinah (2022); and IDEOLOG, Museum Basoeki Abdullah (2022).
