For this Biennale Jogja, Angki discusses some aspects of being an artist people barely talk about, i.e. thoughts and experiences. During 10 months of imprisonment, he wrote down his thoughts and experiences in two diaries which he has been keeping well hitherto. The work of an artist which is presented to and discussed by the public has undergone aestheticization and mystification processes in accordance with the concepts on what is classified as art.

The artist’s life experiences are rarely presented blatantly. Angki tries to position his diaries as an attempt to do so. Even though being in doubt and insecure, he invites the public to enter a dialogue and dig into the artist’s thoughts and experiences that shaped such a work.
