The second series in the Influx series, Influx: Extended involves twelve artists from various regions and various mediums in their artistic practices.
The tethered Influx header, in its definition as 'Starting Engagement' and symbolizing the flow of arrivals, was chosen to depict the confluence of the diverse works of the artists present. Influx is a meeting point for starting discussions, as well as offering opportunities for the public to get to know and learn about the artistic and creative practices of each artist. In contemporary art practice, pluralism is a manifestation of the return of art to civilization, a place where various human issues are discussed together.
Pluralism is imagined to bring a tolerant attitude that embraces, is neutral without prejudice, and respects all interests. Pluralism may accept and respect all differences, but through stating the 'truth' then it becomes risky, it can become vague and without reference. The strong presence of participating artists in the Influx exhibition is built on the works displayed, Ruang Dini hopes that through this exhibition there is hope about the importance of the continuity of art and culture even in situations that are not ideal.
