Dito Yuwono
Dito Yuwono (b.1985) works as a visual artist-curator in Yogyakarta – Indonesia. Dito Yuwono’s work often addresses social issues and interestedin the narrative of how a space is interwoven withpolitics, whether it is a domestic space or a publicsphere through the production of site-specificwork, interventional project, video, photography, andaudio-visual installation.
In the past five years, Dito did numerous residenciesas part of his artistic practice at institutions such as The Northern Territory Center for Contemporary Art– Australia; Ruangrupa – Indonesia; Jatiwangi ArtFactory – Indonesia; GOLEB & Het Wilde Weten –The Netherlands; and TIFA Working Studios – India.His work has been exhibited in Herbert F. JohnsonMuseum of Art – United States, Jimei X ArlesInternational Photo Festival 2017, Cemeti Institutefor Art and Society – Indonesia, ISCP New York –United States, among othersIn 2011, he co-founded LIR—an art institution turnscurator collective, and since 2020, he holds theposition as co-director of Ruang MES 56.
